Machinery Moving and Equipment Storage FAQ

Answers to the questions our customers ask most often about moving and storing equipment.

What areas does C&M Rigging serve?

We serve the Phoenix metropolitan area and the State of Arizona. Our yard is located at 18th Street and Jackson near downtown Phoenix, with direct access to the I-10, I-17, SR-51, and Loop 202. We regularly work in Mesa, Tempe, Scottsdale, Chandler, Gilbert, Glendale, Peoria, and the West Valley, and we travel statewide as projects require. We do not provide service outside Arizona.

How much does a machinery move cost?

We offer competitive rates and can also provide a firm quote for a specific job. Cost depends on the equipment's weight, site access, distance, and the work required inside the building. Call (602) 253-8200 or send us your project details for a quote.

How much weight can you move?

We routinely move production machinery, including CNC machining centers, press brakes, stamping presses, extrusion lines, and printing presses. When a job requires more than a forklift, we bring cranes, chain hoists, gantries, and hydraulic jacks along with our own equipment. Provide the make, model, and weight, and we will tell you what the job requires.

Do you move machines inside a building, not just between buildings?

Yes. On-site equipment relocation is one of our most frequent services, including moving machinery across a floor, into a new bay, or through restricted access points. These moves often require the most careful planning.

Can you store my equipment while my building is being finished?

Yes. We offer 30,000 square feet of enclosed, secure storage, indoor and outdoor, at competitive rates for both short-term and long-term needs. Your equipment remains at our facility until your site is ready.

Can you receive a machine for me if I am not ready for it?

Yes. We accept delivery at our facility, unload and store the equipment, and then deliver and set it when your site is ready. Distributors and manufacturers use this service regularly, since it allows shipping and installation to be scheduled independently.

Do you install HVAC units?

No. We receive, store, and deliver commercial HVAC equipment to job sites, but we do not lift, set, or install HVAC units, including residential systems.

Do you load and unload shipping containers?

Yes. Loading and unloading machinery in sea containers is a regular part of our work. We can also coordinate line trucks to load or offload your equipment.

How far ahead do I need to schedule?

We recommend as much notice as possible, particularly for plant relocations. We also accommodate short-notice requests whenever our schedule allows, so please call to check availability.

Do you handle smaller jobs as well as manufacturing plants?

Yes. In addition to manufacturing facilities, we serve homeowners and businesses with smaller heavy-equipment moves, such as setting a standby generator. If an item is heavy or difficult to move, please contact us.

Are you insured?

Yes. C&M Rigging is a licensed and insured Arizona motor carrier, USDOT 1017633. We can provide a certificate of insurance for your project or building owner upon request.

What are your hours?

Our hours are Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The early start allows our crews to begin work before your production day.

How long has C&M Rigging been in business?

C&M Rigging has been in business since October 2001. We have operated under the same ownership at the same Phoenix location for 25 years and are BBB accredited with an A+ rating.

Do you do crane work?

We are riggers and machinery movers, not a crane rental company, and we do not rent cranes as a standalone service. Cranes are one of the tools we use on rigging jobs, along with our own forklifts and trucks, chain hoists, hydraulic jacks, and gantries, selected based on the requirements of each lift.
